A Tragic State Of Affairs | |

That's how Keith Flaugh - Co-Founder of Florida Citizens Alliance (FCA) - characterized the current state of the education system here in Florida. In general, Keith and his team expressed the view that the public education system fails citizens in that it:
- FAILS STUDENTS ACADEMICALLY - Over 50% of Florida students cannot read or do math at grade level, and more than 20% fail to graduate EVERY YEAR.
- PROMOTES A SECULAR WORLD VIEW - Schools are rampant with indoctrination like the 1619 Project, Critical Race Theory, LQBTQ, Transgenderism, Pornography, etc.
- CARES MORE ABOUT $$ THAN PARENTS - Government schools are monopolies that are controlled by Marxist unions, determined to turn our kids into "obedient Socialists"
But there is hope. Through the efforts of concerned parents and activist organizations like FCA, significant legislation aimed at improving schools has recently been signed into law by Gov. DeSantis. And innovative new approaches like MicroSchools are emerging to help break the stranglehold public schools have on the process of educating our children. It was a powerful presentation and is certainly worth your time reviewing.

It was recently reported that Commissioner Vanessa Baugh, District 5, has resigned her position on the Board of County Commissioners. Her decision was motivated by serious complications with her husband's health. We wish to thank Commissioner Baugh for her service and wish her and her family the best. | |

Lots of things have been happening with the Victims of Communism Day Organizing Committee. The organization is now an officially registered entity with the state of Florida. A Call For Candidate Petitions And Surveys | |

Here's a novel concept: rather than create trite political slogans, why not ask voters what's on their minds when it comes to Manatee County Schools? That is exactly the approach that Mark Stanoch - candidate for Manatee County School Board District 1 - is pursuing. The idea is to go door to door in District 1 communities and survey folks while asking for their signature on the Candidate Petition. It will be fun and a great way to meet your neighbors.
