Summertime Is Potluck Dinner Time!
It's our tradition to host a potluck dinner at all Manatee Patriots meetings. So we ask attendees to please bring along an item that can be shared among fellow Patriots. Bring any portion you like but most folks tend to bring 10-12 servings of a particular dish.

After more than 28 years, Tamara (Tammy) Fitzgerald retired from the Department of State in 2018 as a career member of the U.S. Senior Foreign Service. Starting in 1990, Ms. Fitzgerald served at the U.S. Embassies in Port of Spain, Moscow, Minsk, Berlin, Canberra, and Baghdad. (Her final rank was the diplomatic equivalent of a one-star general.) For her last assignment, Ms. Fitzgerald joined the U.S. Army War College’s Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute (PKSOI) in August 2016 as its State Department Advisor, where alongside teaching duties, Professor Fitzgerald also wrote diplomatic case studies, and participated in international civil-military exercises as a trainer. Ms. Fitzgerald previously served as the U.S. Deputy Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague, and then as Arms Control Counselor in the U.S. Mission to International Organizations in Vienna. In these roles she negotiated with diplomats from over 160 countries, on WMD and conventional arms and export control treaties and agreements. Prior to those two assignments Ms. Fitzgerald served as the Foreign Policy Advisor (POLAD) in the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) HQ in Kabul, Afghanistan, working on governance issues in Provincial Reconstruction Teams (PRTs) across the country, and then as the POLAD to U.S. Air Forces Central Command (USAFCENT) in Qatar where she provided diplomatic, political, and economic guidance to the three-star Command. Ms. Fitzgerald also worked in the Department of State in the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs’ Nuclear Risk Reduction Center, dealing with strategic arms control treaty policies and operations. Thus, she focused on national security policy throughout her diplomatic career, mainly in multilateral arms control and non-proliferation, or on alliance building with NATO and Persian Gulf countries and with Australia. Ms. Fitzgerald graduated with distinction from the University of Colorado with a B.A. in Central and East European Affairs and Russian Language Studies, and from the National War College in Washington, D.C., with an M.S. in National Security Strategy. She served in West Berlin in the mid-1980s as a U.S. Army Russian linguist in a military intelligence unit. She speaks Russian and German, and is the recipient of several State Department Superior and Meritorious Honor Awards. Ms. Fitzgerald has been married to her husband George for 33 years, and they are happily settled in Bradenton, where she avidly follows her five favorite MLB teams. She is also a proud member of her church, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Republican Executive Committee of Manatee County, Manatee Patriots, and Defend Florida. | | | | An Appeal From Alex Newman | | | |
Hey everyone,
The Florida Federation of Teenage Republicans (FFTARS) is going to have its biggest and greatest annual state convention EVER next weekend (June 17), with incredible speakers such as Gen. Michael Flynn and Roger Stone along with key leaders from across our great state. (See flyer below)
We need your help to make it even better! Get tickets here: https://www.flteenagerepublicans.com/donate-copy
These young people are the future of the Republican Party and the future political leaders of our state and country. As our liberties come under escalating attack and our nation finds itself in growing turmoil, we need to support and encourage these future leaders in every way we can.
That's where you come in.
This email is being sent out to over 150 carefully chosen grassroots leaders, Republican and conservative club organizers, political figures, pastors, and prominent media voices across Florida. If everybody on this list shares with their people, we will reach virtually the entire conservative movement in Florida.
Other ways you can help: 1) SHOW UP! 2) Invite the young people in your life for this historic opportunity to interact with key national and state leaders 3) Get a booth at the event 4) Help financially 5) Pray for these young leaders 6) Spread the word in your sphere of influence.
The FL Federation of Teenage Republicans is already the largest and most active in the nation, with many chapters across the state and more being created as we speak. Let's move this to the next level so our young leaders know we have their back!
Here is the link to get tickets one more time: https://www.flteenagerepublicans.com/donate-copy
Thanks in advance for your support, and we look forward to seeing you on June 17 🙂
Blessings,
Alex Newman & Marlee Newman, FFTARS Treasurer | | | | | | A Call For Candidate Petitions And Surveys | | | | Here's a novel concept: rather than create trite political slogans, why not ask voters what's on their minds when it comes to Manatee County Schools? That is exactly the approach that Mark Stanoch - candidate for Manatee County School Board District 1 - is pursuing. The idea is to go door to door in District 1 communities and survey folks while asking for their signature on the Candidate Petition. It will be fun and a great way to meet your neighbors. To learn more and to sign up, simply click on this link and fill out a short participation form.
If you live in School Board District 1 (generally north of SR64 and east of I-75) you can sign a petition too! To download the Candidate Petition, just click on the cleverly placed button below. Please bring completed forms to our next meeting. | | | | | | | | Join The Florida GOP In Preparing For 2024 | | | | This is a reminder that the Republican Party of Manatee County is recruiting participants for an Election Integrity Committee.
