Dear Guest,

Florida Remains Free!

Gov. Ron DeSantis won a resounding victory on Tuesday evening to remain Florida's Best Governor for another 4 years! And Senator Marco Rubio retained his Senate seat keeping Florida's representation in the US Senate solidly Republican. All the other winners in Tuesday's contest are reported below.

In other great news, the Campaign Volunteer Appreciation Party for our next week's meeting has been extended to volunteers for ALL candidates during the course of their Primary and General Election campaigns. In order to accommodate the anticipated attendance, we have moved the meeting to the Pavilion at Mixon Farms. We are asking all attendees and guests to RSVP as soon as possible using the button below. And Manatee Patriots subscribers are asked to bring an entree or dessert to maintain our traditional Pot Luck meetings.

The Winners

Republicans were winners up and down the entire ballot on Tuesday.  As expected Vern Buchanan retained his seat in the US House of Representatives in FL-16.  The entire Republican ticket headed by Gov. Ron DeSantis was victorious.  But perhaps most important, with Tuesday's wins, the Manatee County School Board and Board of County Commissioners are seats now held exclusively by Republicans.  This win is truly historic and has not occurred within decades.  In fact, not a single candidate from the Democrat party was successful during this election cycle.

The DeSantis Effect on School Board Races

What does Cindy Spray, Chad Choate and Richard Tatem have in common?  All 3 Manatee County School Board candidates won their respective races either during the Primary or in this week's General Election and they were all endorsed by Gov. Ron DeSantis.  And did you know that despite the District 2 School Board race being non-partisan, Cindy Spray defeated a candidate who was endorsed by the Democrat party?  Clearly, the Governor's endorsement had a strong positive effect on the outcome of these elections.  A recent article in Politico dives deeper into this dynamic in races across the state and adds that endorsements by Moms for Liberty were another critical success factor.  To read the full article, just click this link.

Commitment Meeting for Newly Elected Officials After Thanksgiving

We had very impressive wins in Manatee County last Tuesday.  But now it is up to us to ensure that the newly elected officials carry out what they had promised while on the campaign trail.  So our first meeting after the Thanksgiving break (November 29 meeting) will feature an "Evening of Commitments" from all of our new electeds.  Each former candidate will be given 10-15 minutes to present on what they want to accomplish during their term.  Questions may be asked during the session or may be submitted in advance by using the "Contact" form on our website.  You may access this form by clicking this link
